The branches of a Birch tree create interesting intersections that looked to me like roads and bridges. This monochrome abstraction of the branches and leaves of a Birch tree also has the mood of a charcoal drawing.

Bare sycamore branches, decorated with the round seed pods that form over the winter months, spread out against a stark white sky. The contrast between the tree's silhouette and the bright background creates a minimalist effect.
My original color photograph, captured on a cloudy early spring day, has been creatively edited... converted to black and white, and treated to a bright high-key look.
